A Youth Wellbeing
Community Activation
Project
Our East Coast Bays Community Stakeholders
Youth Focus Groups and their Principals at Murrays Bay Intermediate and Rangitoto College workshopped and strategised to design and deliver presentations and polls to their peers to determine the top collective priority for youth wellbeing.
They will be coming to the Summit and some will be co-facilitating with Kristi.
Northcross Intermediate have come on board with representatives coming to the Summit, supported by a youth focus group and the School Management Team.
Some Youth Focus Group feedback:
“I have worked with other people that exposed me to different perspectives. There has been a lot of discrimination in our community, and I feel that being in this project allows me to help foster a sense of belonging in our community.”
-
Rui-Han Ong, Rangitoto College
“It’s what people need for their well-being: positive and fulfilling connections with one another, providing support when they need it most. I strongly believe that NOBODY should ever be under the influence of a well-being that is detrimental towards their life and themself as a person.”
-
Lachlan Hill, Rangitoto College
“I strongly empathise with how [mental illness] negatively interferes with other areas in the lives of our youth, limiting their full potential and future opportunities. This drives my passion to contribute to this team, aspiring to make a practical, long-term difference for our community’s youth.”
-
Miko Williams, Rangitoto College
“Our unheard voices have been able to be expressed through this project.”
-
Aadrisa Kumar, Rangitoto College
